ABOUT ME!

My name is Ruby Vanhouten, and I've adored performing since I was a child. Whether it was making up songs with my friends and performing them in front of our entire class, joining the school choir, or forcing my family to sit through some very avant-garde original musicals, it's always been what I love to do.

I am currently studying at NYU at the Atlantic Acting School, working towards my Drama BFA. When not at school, I live with my family in California along with our cats, dogs, and foster kittens. In my free time, I love drawing, reading fantasy novels, and making my friends play improv games (they love it, they just don't know it yet).

My goal for my work is to help tell stories that matter, that will impact an audience. And while the stories are the end result, the process towards getting there is just as important. Respect, kindness, and preparedness are the keys to successful creative collaboration; I strive to embody those ideals in every project I work on.
